The company was highly recommended to me so I had high expectations. I was very pleased with the quality and timeliness of the work. I would have no problem adding my high recommendation to the two I received.

Overall experience with Kansas City Master Companies. We decided to use Kansas City Master Companies to perform our foundation restoration project primarily because of our experience with them on a small project they did for us 20 years ago. After their Engineer performed a detailed survey and analysis of our requirements he presented a contract proposal; during our discussion of the proposal we learned that the Company had remained under the same ownership since our last work was performed and one of the project foremen who would execute part of our new work was actually the same person who ran our previous project. This, also, helped to seal the deal. Their price was competitive and they offered us a considerable amount of grace by holding to their original price quote for over two years. All of the company associates who took part in our project were people of character and integrity; traits often advertised but seldom found. The work crews were on time, professional, and left the project grounds in better shape than they found it. Needless to say; we highly recommend Kansas City Master Companies.

KCMC leveled and shored up our foundation with piers all the way down to bedrock on two walls where they were settling. We looked at 4 different companies total and received bids from all. KCMC had the best bracket and shim system as I've seen it apply to our situation for the cost involved. The crew was great to work with and they respected our property as good as they could interior and exterior. They did all the work as mentioned on a timely manner. Their quote was pretty accurate to the best that they could give. Our piers went deeper than planned and cost us approx. $300.00 more than quoted. Also had to have special brackets for the frost footing which cost us an extra $400.00. Overall I think things went well, and we liked their warranty. They also left bench marks on the house so if we need to check this again we can do so to see if their system held or failed. Job cost approx $12,200.00.

We had 14 piers installed around the foundation of our home and two piers within the basement to correct the shifting that had occurred on the South, East, and North faces of our home. There was some evidence that minor foundation settling had occurred prior to the purchase of our home in 2010; however, drywall damage within the home revealed greater foundation settling had followed the wet spring and extremely dry summer we've had in 2011. In our case, the piering involved the trenching of 3-8ft depth holes, until the foundation base was located; a metal footing was attached to the foundation base, whereupon metal rods were driven pneumatically into the ground until the bedrock was reached. The mudjacking crew immediately followed the piering crew. They drilled holes into our basement and driveway and filled the void below the cement. The whole job, which was a major undertaking, was competed in 6 days. The job went very well. Scheduling was very accommodating and quick in sending us a field consultant. He measured the elevations of the home with a laser over several hours and presented a cursory piering plan. His report was sent to an engineer for final approval and we were placed on the schedule, 8 weeks later, the job began. Foreman and workers x4 were very professional in appearance, conduct and work ethic. This team worked very efficiently and fast: digging four 5-8 foot holes, attaching footings and piers within 4 hours. We were kept informed of the plan, time frame for job competition and addressed any issues that came up. At the end of the each day, construction tape marked all work zones (I appreciated this added safety precaution, as we have 4 children). When drilling began within our finished basement, they sealed off the portion of the home with plastic tarp to isolate the work area/dust to one side of the room. Once all piers were installed, the home was pneumatically lifted in small isolated "bursts" to its appropriate level. After each "burst", the foreman inspected all drywall throughout the home to check for cracks. We had been informed that more drywall cracking may occur (as our home had recently been renovated by the previous owners). The mudjacking crew arrived on time and completed their work in 3 hours. Overall, all work areas within the home were cleaned after each crew had completed their task. Holes around the home were filled, grass seed & straw sowed over the work areas. This was hard labor work, especially for the piering crew - I'm amazed that they completed this job in 5 days and at the highest level of professionalism. We've reviewed several calls from the field consultant during the work week and after the job was completed to check on any concerns, etc. Example: At one point, a hidden floor drain was located in the basement floor (covered by previous owners with linoleum), which required scoping prior to mudjacking. I appreciated the forethought of potential problems should the pipe not be patent. The field consultant contacted a company, who inspected the line within 2 days prior to the mudjacking crew arrived. I know that KC Master Co. was priced slightly more than their competitors, but we felt it was worth every bit-crew was top notch and work is warranted for the owners and transferrable to future home owners. I would hire them again

Company filled in a window well for us-removed it. Very well. We had estimates and differing ideas about how to resolve our window well issue - it was filling and flooding into our basement. The estimates from other providers ranged from $2000-$5000. KC Masters took a look at the situation and said "fill in the window well". That made good sense to us and was much less expensive than the other solutions ($900). The solution has worked very well. I would hire them again

We used their service to correct a foundation problem and also the replace a cement stoop in front of the house. KCMC was one of multiple companies in which we solicited bids. During the bid process, phone calls and emails were not immediately returned. But we learned this was consistent with the other companies bidding on the project. We chose this company because we felt they were providing us with the best solution for the problem at the best price. Our foreman for the job was exceptional and he explained the process in detail prior to starting the project. He answered all of our questions throughout the entire process and gave us daily updates. We couldn't have asked for a better crew on this project. Can't say enough positive things about how the gentlemen respected our property and handled themselves in a professional manner. We would hire again.

Foundation repair and lifting of house structure. Member Comments: Both crews that came were very respectful of my personal space by closing of their work area and staying as discrete as possible. They also cleaned up very well after themselves and even replanted grass when they were done.

We were really in a pickle! After two very bad experiences with foundation repair contractors and $20,000.00 later, we finally found KC Master Companies / Pier Masters. They were lifesavers! When they came into our home, we literally had a dirt floor in the living room. One of the earlier mentioned contractors had ripped out all of the concrete, dug 3- 6feet deep holes along the inside wall (where piers were to be inserted) and had walked off the job. During a four month period, we contacted a number of smaller foundation repair companies but had the same experience over and over: the estimate guy would take a look at the mess, tell us he'd call back with an estimate then run away- never to be heard from again. I finally ran across Pier Masters in the phonebook and within two weeks, a crew was working on our home. We were so fortunate to have Jim Hill (Senior Field Consultant) come out and give us the estimate. He was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. Before we even signed with Pier Masters, Jim took time to do detailed drawings to assess the amount of repair required. He also came to the job site everyday with his camera to make sure the job was running smoothly and to document the work. The work crew also was amazing- so friendly, professional and easy to have in the house. The company's owner even made it out to our house once during the week. When the work was finished, the crew "reassembled" our yard and did a very good job of cleanup. They also did repairs inside the house and subcontracted a skilled concrete guy to pour us a new living room floor. We did have one incident that went smoothly because of the professionalism of Pier Masters. Unfortunately, our utilities were mismarked and a power line was severed with a backhoe. The crew foreman knew to get pictures of the markings to document the mismark. Sure enough, the marking company denied responsibility but the pictures proved the error. A year later, the power company tried to charge us $300 for repairs. I called Pier Masters, and they dealt with the power company. We didn't pay anything and I never heard about the problem again. It has been 3 years now and we are still very happy with the result of our foundation repair. We are so thrilled anytime someone asks for a good foundation company because we know the best people in the business- KC Master Companies / Pier Masters.

They were excellent! They finished the job at least 3 days ahead of schedule. They did a great job of the work and they were great to work with. Their integrity is unquestionable and I would highly recommend them.

Company installed 27 piers around perimeter of house, leveled foundation, sealed basement wall cracks and mudjacked depressed section of driveway. Our home had settled slightly over 20 years, causing recurring drywall cracks in living areas, and a few basement wall cracks. After having an independent engineering evaluation which recommended piering, I hired this company to address all problems mentioned above. The company ran into unforeseen difficulties but had the technical skills to address the problem. The work crew was on time each day, kept me well informed of the progress and made every effort to minimize disturbance and dust to non work areas. I would recommend this company if you have foundation settlement problems that require special expertise to correct.
- Wayne K, 2007

Dear Mr. Frey: This is just a short note to tell you how pleased I am with the work your company did for us recently. I have spent the last two summers contacting four other companies to get our back steps releveled. Because this was a small project, their representatives would set work dates but fail to show up. I would contact them again, get new promises and they were putting us on the back burner for larger contracts. After I contacted Pier Masters, I was assured by your representatives that this was not the way your company did business. Everyone I worked with at Pier Masters has been pleasant and professional. They made and kept! their work appointments as they promised. I will be pleased to recommend Pier Masters to my friends and neighbors. Sincerely, Sandra T.

Dear Mr. Frey: I wanted to send you a quick note concerning one of your employees Marlis S. Simply, she is remarkable. We have a contract with your company to perform work on our foundation which has settled. On MY end, there have been difficulties with scheduling. I could not fathom how Marlis could have done any more in accommodating my wife and I. Mr. Frey; I am the Vice President of sales for a large chemical company. We sell product from Vancouver to Atlanta. One of our product lines is the salt used on our highways. You can imagine how important customer service is to my organization, especially now. KC Master Company has an outstanding example of such customer service in Marlis S. Thank You. Sincerely, Steven B. PhD

They have been wonderful to work with. They have had the safety of 600 plus children as their number one priority as is ours. They have daily informed me as to what they are doing. They are a very conscientious crew. They have been super about being as clean around the worksite and inside the building as possible. I would be very pleased to have Master Mudjackers do any work that we needed to have done. Sincerely, Ginny R. Director |
